Tim Hopkins
President

Tim, an Indigenous man and a member of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, started Advantage to create a business that provides employment and job training opportunities for Indigenous people and works to break through stereotypical barriers to success. He holds a B.Sc (Biology) from the University of Toronto and a B.Ed from Laurentian University and believes in the power and freedom of choice education and training can provide.

Tim has 30 years of experience and enjoys working closely with the communities Advantage serves, helping them find creative solutions that meets their needs and exceeds expectations. His positive approach to any situation contributes to a valuable experience for everyone, employees and clients alike.

When he isn’t travelling across the country to connect with clients, Tim can be found exploring the great outdoors, both in Canada and abroad, with his family.

Bob Viana
Head Journeyman Roofer

Originally from Brazil, Bob has lived in New Zealand for many years and has recently moved to Canada with his wife and two children. In New Zealand, Bob got his licence building practitioner (LBP) and Roof Installer Certificate (NZQA 375/1 Membranes).

Over the past 16 years, Bob has worked in the roofing and waterproofing industry, often in health and safety roles, in South America, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Samoa.

Now part of the Advantage group as a Head Journeyman Roofer, Bob is responsible for overseeing our quality assurance and ensures all of our projects are completed to the highest standard.

Michael Hopkins
Media Relations

Michael is a member of the Ahtahkakoop First Nation and is proud to be working for a company that actively supports its Indigenous employees as he works towards achieving this career goals. Armed with a creative eye for photography and videography, Michael thrives on capturing the “moments” of projects as the official drone pilot for the company.  Sharing his father, Tim’s vision of the company is Michael’s passion when he is working on site and online.

When he isn’t hitting the books or capturing beautiful photos and video of the work Advantage does, Michael spends his time practicing Muay Tai boxing, restoring his sports car and helping people learn to ski.

Jenifer Kiskotagan
Office Clerk

Jenifer is an urban member of Red Pheasant First Nation. She has always worked with aboriginal organizations in the nonprofit sector. Offering over ten years of office administration, she enjoys learning different business sectors and excelling in her office skills.  Jenifer loves this new challenge and looks forward to meeting the current clients and new ones while running the office efficiently and smoothly.
